When in doubt just smile
After staring at 100 name signs at the airport to no avail, I get called to the information desk. The man who picked me up DID have my name on a piece of paper like he said he would, but he had a different name. I was expecting Omer. I got something like Eurmash. His head was smaller than the pictures I’ve seen, but he still was kinda bald. The initial welcoming was different than I had expected, no hug :(
So I added all these things up in my head rather quickly. Maybe a little too quickly because I was following him right away. I was so flustered by that airport and visa experience that I was anxious to get out of the mad house.
And I thought driving in America sucks. Rush hour-6:30 pm-highway in downtown Istanbul. No one is using lanes. And their cars are suspiciously free of damage. Eurmash said something like “Its not about following the rules, but just going along with the traffic.” Fair enough. It works.

This experience quickly triggered a convo about car insurance
The super cute maid just came in. I think she just said she’s going to go get us some food, but chances are I’m way off. Her name’s Futmahn, and thats how I’d spell it
P.S. The flight was amazing. Even thought I sat in the middle of the middle, my neighbors were friendly and fun. Food was excelente! And yes, bits of spanish are slipping out.

You should have seen first class...
